We believe in the one, true, holy, living, and eternal God, who is spirit. He is creator, sovereign Lord, and sustainer of all things: visible and invisible. He is unlimited in power, wisdom, justice, kindness, and love, and rules with mercy for the wellbeing and salvation of all people, and for the glory of his name. We believe that God reveals himself as the holy Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—distinguishable, but inseparable, coeternal, one in nature, will, and power.
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, true God, and true man, in whom divine and human are perfectly and inseparably connected. Regarding the divine nature, he is the only Son of God the Father, coeternal and one in nature with the Father, the eternal Word of God through whom everything has been created. Regarding human nature, he is the incarnate Word, born of virgin Mary through the power of the Holy Spirit. For us and our salvation he became incarnate, lived, suffered, was crucified on a cross under the rule of Pontius Pilate, died, and was buried. On the third day he rose from the dead, according to Holy Scripture, ascended into heaven and is seated at the right side of the Father, from where he will come again. He is the eternal saviour and intercessor, who intercedes for us, and through whom all will be judged and whose kingdom is eternal.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the life-giving Lord, who is of the same nature with the Father and the Son, whom we worship and glorify equally with the Father and the Son. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. By blessing and encouraging our personal response of faith to the gospel, he brings people to reconciliation with God, to salvation and relationships with God, and introduces them into the fellowship of the Church. He comforts, sustains, and strengthens the believers, guiding them in all truth.
We believe in the Holy Bible of the Old and New Testaments, which reveals the Word of God and his will regarding everything concerning our salvation. Through the Holy Spirit, the Bible is to be received as the only true rule of faith and life. What is not revealed or affirmed by Holy Scripture must not be endorsed as belonging to the faith or intrinsic to salvation.
We believe in the one, holy, universal, and apostolic church, which is the community of all true believers under the lordship of Jesus Christ. The church is the fellowship of the saved, where the Word of God is preached, heard, accepted, and lived by men, women and children called by God, and where the sacraments are duly performed according to Christ’s command. Under the guidance and discipline of the Holy Spirit, the church as a family of faith exists to worship God, building up the believers, and for the salvation of the world.
We believe that all people will stand under the righteous judgment of Jesus Christ both in this world and on the last day. We believe in the resurrection of the dead: the righteous to eternal life, and the ungodly to eternal condemnation.
